FAQ

Q: Will you train my dog or do you train me?

A: I train you. It will be way more valuable to you in the end.

Q: How many sessions will it take to fix my dog?

A: If it’s something like pulling on the leash or potty issues, I can give you all the info you need in one session and the work would be up to you. If it’s reactivity or multiple issues, you may need 3+ sessions.

Q: Is every dog trainable?

A: If the dog is up to interact, it can be trained. We’re softer with the older dogs, but they wanna do stuff too!

Q: Can dogs be stubborn or spiteful?

A: No. They don’t even reason that far. Also, if someone is trying to get you to go bowling but bowling is annoying to you…does that make you stubborn? …or just disinterested. Another thing..what you think is stubbornness could be a fear reaction. Keep that in mind. The usual thing you see from a dog is

   a. Confusion - They don’t speak English and do not know what you are asking for.

   b. Frustration - They’ve been trying to understand but there’s no reward and they’re losing interest.

   c. Value issue - …” This dead lizard is worth way more to me than coming to you”

Q: Can you live with us?

A: No, sorry lol

Q: Do you board?

A: No, sorry

Q: Why do you not believe in punishment?

A: We as humans have been taught with fear since the beginning of time. It seems interwoven in everything we see and do. All fear does is create mistrust, suspicion, and uncertainty. To not trust the one who brings your food, and to not be able to say anything is scary. Lastly, we as humans are not timely enough to punish so that the dog understands what happened. The dog only has 1.3 seconds to associate what they did with the reward ..or consequence for that matter. I would much rather have the dog confident, knowing to do the things I like, rather than fearing everything it does until it receives either reward or punishment.
